Marcus Lothrop ordered F30 and had his own specification, which was not to have the complicated auxiliary unit, it was complicated for a reason, it did lots of things, water pumps, oil pumps, vacuum pumps , dynamo........ once he had no aux unit all these things had to be accounted for in different ways, this sketch shows one of Abners ideas for driving the dynamo.

Chris, I thought Mr. Lothrop was a lawyer? Did he have any engineering background or was his disinclination based on experience he saw with the E cars?
